What can the Simple Structure program calculate?

It designs and checks the steel members of an ordinary building, columns, tie beams (edge beams), rafters, and purlins, while accounting for building-level seismic and wind loads, shown as a 3D model.

Is it free? Do I need to sign up?

Which standards are supported, and multiple countries?

Steel sections are designed to AISC 360 and other international standards (Eurocode 3, AS 4100, CSA S16, etc.), together with the seismic standards of many countries, selectable by project location.

How does it differ from the PEB / Truss programs?

Simple Structure suits ordinary buildings where members are checked individually (columns/beams/rafters/purlins), while PEB focuses on pre-engineered tapered steel frames and Roof Truss focuses specifically on roof trusses.

Can the results be used for construction directly?

This is a preliminary design tool. The results must be reviewed and certified by a licensed engineer before being used for actual construction.
