What it is
ACI 318, “Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete” by the American Concrete Institute, is the primary reinforced-concrete design code in the US and is widely referenced worldwide.

Strength design (USD): factored loads compared against nominal strength reduced by strength-reduction factors (φ).
