What it is

AISC 360, the “Specification for Structural Steel Buildings” by the American Institute of Steel Construction, is the primary standard for structural steel design in the US and is referenced in many countries worldwide.

Design method

It unifies two methods in one document: LRFD (factored loads against φ·Rn) and ASD (Rn/Ω against service loads), which give consistent results.
