SP 16.13330
The Russian steel structures design code (the updated edition of SNiP II-23).
What it is
SP 16.13330 “Steel Structures” is Russia's primary steel design code — the updated edition of SNiP II-23-81* — used with the SP 20.13330 loading code, and the parent lineage of several national standards (e.g. Vietnam's).
Design method
Russian limit-state design: the design strength Ry is the yield strength divided by the material factor γm, combined with a working-condition factor γc in every verification equation.
Key checks
- Section strength N/(An·Ry·γc) ≤ 1 and flexure M/(Wn·Ry·γc) ≤ 1
- Compression stability — φ from buckling curves by section type (a/b/c)
- Beam stability (φb), shear and combined actions
Kaokla tools using this standard
⚠ Educational overview, not case-specific design advice — always reference the full standard and have a licensed engineer certify the design before construction.
